Music The Other Wes More

         Music is a sanctuary for many people in today’s society and it provides a moment of peace to many people. In the other Wes Moore’s Hip Hop played a special role is Moore’s life. The role that music plays in my life is small but important. Music for me presents an adrenaline rush and a push to go harder. Since a young kid I have been listening to classical music from my country but as soon as I moved to the United States everything changed. Since I moved to Jersey City my music taste has completely changed. I started listening to many Rap/HipHop artist since it was the most popular in my area.

            In the book, “The other Wes Moore” the author gets pranked into thinking that he could escape military school and go back home. In my life many people have tried to trick me into certain things, but I haven’t fell for any but one. When I was about 13, I was tricked by a classmate who acquired a rare pair of sneakers for a very affordable price. As a young kid I thought it was perfect deal since I couldn’t afford much of anything these were a deal of a lifetime. Once I purchased the shoes it had a delivery time of 2-4 weeks which I thought was moderate due to the location of the shoes. After 4-5 weeks nothing arrived, and no tracking was admitted to the website at that point I realized what happened. I was scammed out of my 90$ and it made me feel tricked. I was shattered since I had high expectations for these rare shoes to arrive, but nothing did. What Wes learned from this prank is to not really care about how people treated him. 

            In page 100, The Other Wes Moore needed to tell his mother that he got Alicia pregnant. In my life I had a couple instances where I had to give someone news that I knew would break their heart. Starting off with having to tell my family that I was going to move to the USA. It was a hard moment for my mom and I to relay this massage to my whole family since they were all in shock and neglect. We presented to them how this country was corrupt and since my father was already in the US as a citizen, I would automatically be a citizen and my mom would only have to go through a small process to obtain hers. After a while of convening, they understood why this was the best decision for my mother and I and was a pass to a new life. We built up the courage to tell them this by thinking about the brighter side. The endless opportunity’s the US presented like good colleges, jobs, and overall living. This was in my opinion the best decision we made since my mother has a management job at Dolex corporations and I have been running my own successful digital shoes company since 16 which is growing daily.
